Remote I/O system for use in zone 1
The module racks consist of a backplane and the actual rack system. They can acommodate gateways, power supplies and up to 16 I/O modules. They also feature a combined type of protection, EExe and EExi. The module power supply on the backplane is limited to prevent sparking. Therefore with the use of excom® in zone 1 it is also possible to pull and plug modules in powered state.
