TURCK offers a wide range of inductive sensors for areas exposed to explosion hazards caused by dusts. Sensors according to device category II 3 D comply with the requirements of the ATEX directive 94/9/EC and are approved for use in areas subject to short-term explosion hazards (zone 22). Ex i (intrinsically safe) NAMUR sensors or Ex 1D sensors fall into this category. The use of category II 1 D and II 2 D sensors is of course also permitted.
